- ➤ NewsWatch 12 partnered with US Cellular and Grange Co-op to launch its annual toy drive; donors can drop off new unwrapped toys at Grange Co-op locations—Ashland, Central Point, Grants Pass, Klamath Falls, Medford, and White City—to help bring joy to local children during the festive season. HEALTH NEWS
- ➤ Providence Cancer Center in Medford began using its new $2M HDR brachytherapy suite this week to cut wait times + boost treatment capacity. The suite, funded by a Festival of Trees donation, will add 250 HDR treatments, 3,000 linear accelerator treatments and 100 surgeries yearly while keeping patients in one room for comfort + privacy. - ➤ A Southern Oregon family faces tough times as their 4-year-old son was diagnosed with an aggressive brain tumor and is set for a second major surgery next week while his mother began chemotherapy the same day after a rare pregnancy complication. The family is also managing travel to Palo Alto for treatment — a GoFundMe has been started to help with their rising expenses. KDRV
