SOARC sponsors FCC exams (Technician, General, and Amateur Extra) to the public through the ARRL Volunteer Examiner Coordinator program.

The exam sessions begin at 6:30 PM (doors open at 6:00 PM) and are held at the Fruitdale Grange on Rogue River Highway, the same location as our monthly SOARC meetings.

All license candidates must show a picture I.D, have an FCC Registration Number (FRN), and have a valid email address. Those upgrading to General or Amateur Extra must also show a copy of their current license (paper copy or on your smart phone, etc.).

Exam fee is $15 (cash please, it goes to ARRL). The FCC charges a $35 dollar fee for all NEW licenses. Upgrades are still free. Successful candidates will receive an email from the FCC telling you how to pay the $35 fee.
