  • Mt. Ashland officials announced plans to replace the Windsor chairlift following a routine inspection that found a critical component at end-of-life — the nonprofit ski area said the upgrade is necessary to maintain reliable operations and prevent costly disruptions across the mountain.  The Grants Pass Tribune

  • Avatar: Fire and Ash brings James Cameron’s saga to Southgate Cinemas in Grants Pass for holiday screenings. The film will run daily with both standard and 3D showings (morning and evening options available) to offer an immersive viewing experience.  The Grants Pass Tribune

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • The House approved a bill (H.R. 845) that would remove federal protection for gray wolves so states can manage them. Congressman Cliff Bentz said the move could help Oregon ranchers and now the Senate must review it.  The Grants Pass Tribune
  • Today, Congressman Cliff Bentz applauded the House passing the Pet and Livestock Protection Act (he said it steps toward removing gray wolves from federal protection after livestock losses) as the bill now heads to the Senate for further review.  KOBI-TV

HEALTH NEWS

  • Local clinics urge residents to schedule an annual physical before 2026 to catch health issues early and take advantage of insurance coverage. Appointments update vaccinations, monitor chronic conditions, and help prepare for winter illness — a proactive step for everyone.  The Grants Pass Tribune
  • Rogue Community College will offer free full mouth dental X-rays to eligible adults at its Table Rock Campus in White City from Jan. 5 through March 20, providing a no-cost option for preventive dental care & supporting hands-on training for dental students.  The Grants Pass Tribune
