- ➤ Wildlife Images Rehabilitation and Education Center in Grants Pass is marking Steve Irwin Day today by offering free entry for veterans and kids and launching its new Red Tail Rosé from Wooldridge Creek Vineyard—proceeds support the park's nonprofit mission. - ➤ Today, Phoenix High School is hosting its first Kitchen Klash where student chefs from Grants Pass + Ashland, Klamath Falls, Medford, Eagle Point, Prospect and Phoenix will prepare a three-point landing dish using a mystery ingredient. The winners will receive engraved cutting boards + the event is organized by the Southern Oregon Education Service District. KDRV
- ➤ Grants Pass School District 7 agreed to pay a $650,000 settlement to two teachers fired in July 2021 after using district equipment to share their views online. The board reversed the firings, provided positive recommendation letters and revised its policy to protect free speech — while issuing a public acknowledgment of its shortcomings. KOBI-TV
