- ➤ Blackbird Shopping Center in Rogue Valley announced a new cash policy because its hardware store can no longer receive pennies from its bank—cash totals ending in one or two cents will round down to zero and those ending in three or four cents will round up to five. The store apologized for the inconvenience and thanked customers for understanding. KOBI-TV
- ➤ Rogue River resident Jani Louise has spent decades exploring spirituality, and her journey began in 1986 at a metaphysical shop that sparked her imagination. Her lifelong exploration led her to open Janilou Creations — a small town shop that reflects her unique path. Rogue River Press
HEALTH NEWS
- ➤ Rural Metro Fire said sleeping with a closed door—shown in a video from a Grants Pass house fire—can slow the spread of flames, heat, and smoke and advised residents to check that their smoke and carbon monoxide alarms work. KOBI-TV
- ➤ November is National Caregiving Month and nearly 800,000 Oregon adults are care providers. Melanie Greeley from the Rogue Valley Council of Governments’ Aging and Disability Resource Connection said local caregivers may access over 300 resources—including Medicare counseling and in-home services such as bathing and housekeeping—and the Family Caregiver Respite program offers grants for temporary relief. - ➤ Oregon's free fishing days will let residents fish without licenses or stamps on November 28—29. Bass, panfish and trout will be in lakes, ponds and reservoirs and coho and steelhead will be available in local streams. Rogue River Press
- ➤ Aiden Ayer scored nine points against Hanby on November 4 and added eight — including a big fourth-period 3-pointer — on November 5 in a win over Lincoln Savage that brought his team's record to 1-1. Rogue River Press
