- ➤ The City of Grants Pass will host its Council Community Connection event on Friday, November 14, from 10:00 to 11:00 at Starbucks Coffee on Northeast Terry Lane—councilors Kathleen Krohn and Victoria Marshall will meet with residents to talk about local issues. Attendance is open without registration to help residents share their views directly with elected officials. The Grants Pass Tribune
- ➤ Grants Pass will hold its Annual Tree Lighting Ceremony in four weeks near Don’s Bike Center where families can enjoy live music, horse-drawn carriage rides, and visits from Santa and Mrs. Claus. The event features a new sock skating rink for children and craft vendors—an offering that brings festive cheer—while marking the start of holiday activities in the community. The Grants Pass Tribune
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ A federal court ordered full SNAP benefits to be restored nationwide, and on November 7 the Oregon Department of Human Services quickly loaded all active cases with their full payments after delays from the shutdown. More than 750,000 residents—including many in Southern Oregon—received the benefits and are encouraged to verify their Oregon Trail Card balances as federal funding remains uncertain.
