  • Grants Pass residents will meet Mayor Clint Scherf and Councilor Indra Nicholas at the Council Community Connection event on Friday, October 10th at Lonely Pine Coffee on 130 SE G Street downtown. Attendees will ask questions and share concerns about local issues — the event will be an informal chance to speak with city leaders outside formal meetings.  The Grants Pass Tribune

EDUCATION NEWS

  • A new preschool called Ivy School opened in Grants Pass last week and welcomed over 50 children in three classrooms for early learning. The program is at the former Dutch Bros Coffee site—where building renovations are underway—and fundraising continues as more families join the wait list.  KOBI-TV

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Motorists on SW Ramsey Avenue should expect lane closures from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Wednesday, October 8 as Robco installs underground utilities between Nebraska Avenue and SW Grandview Avenue—drivers are urged to allow extra travel time while flaggers manage traffic. Emergency vehicles will pass through the work zone at all times.  The Grants Pass Tribune
  • Rogue River Mayor Pam Van Arsdale was honored with the James C. Richards Memorial Award at the League of Oregon Cities’ 100th Annual Conference in Portland—recognizing her decade of leadership in modernizing local government and securing transit services for the region.  The Grants Pass Tribune
