- ➤ Cici is a playful 2 and a half-year-old dog weighing 52 pounds who is ready for adoption at Josephine County Animal Shelter—she is spayed, vaccinated, microchipped, and nearly house-trained. She thrives with other dogs on walks but is not suited for homes with livestock, and calling ahead is recommended. The Grants Pass Tribune
- ➤ Grants Pass will host many community events this week — activities start at the Josephine County Fairgrounds and continue with a riverfront evening at Taprock’s Brews and Music on Thursday, a wine and acoustic event at Schmidt Family Vineyards on Friday, a downtown Growers’ Market and LEGO build at the Community Library on Saturday, and a music festival at Out’n’About Treesort through Sunday. - ➤ Sunday saw the Caveman Coin & Token Show fill the exhibit halls from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. and Grants Pass Downs hosted a live race at 1 p.m.; today the Downs will host a 5 p.m. race, the covered arena will open at 11 a.m. for riders, and the Dance Club will perform—open riding sessions are set from Tuesday through Friday with a final race on September 28 at 1 p.m. The Grants Pass Tribune

- ➤ Residents from Grants Pass can plan a fall road trip to Portland this October to visit the historic Heathman Hotel, known for ghost tales in room 703 and a charming old style+ the drive along Interstate 5 will show off scenic autumn views with stops in Eugene or Salem for a cozy fall break. - ➤ The City of Grants Pass released its official street sweeping schedule for the week of September 21 to remind residents of the need to clear streets for efficient cleaning. Affected residents must remove parked vehicles and trash cans from their roadways between 7:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m.—city officials noted that weather could change the schedule. The Grants Pass Tribune
