COMMUNITY NEWS

  • Grants Pass is preparing for the 2025 Tap Walk craft beer event on Saturday, October 11th. Adults will enjoy a walking beer tour at 25 downtown stops from 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.—tickets cost $45 in pre-sale and $50 on event day, and each ticket includes an event map, commemorative pint glass, and insulated tote.  KDRV

  • Stewart Myers led a patent workshop today at The Hivve in downtown Grants Pass—explaining how the patent system works to local attendees.  Rogue River Press

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Grants Pass is accepting applications for four Budget Committee seats that let residents help decide how city funds are spent—three positions last until December 31, 2028 and one until December 31, 2027.  The Grants Pass Tribune
  • The City of Grants Pass has issued a call for proposals to build low-barrier shelters or managed rest sites that meet ADA and legal standards, serve at least 150 individuals, and provide a path to permanent housing. Proposals must be submitted to City Recorder Karen Frerk at City Hall by October 9 at 4:00 p.m. — the city may cancel the request if the plans do not meet its requirements.  The Grants Pass Tribune
  • Today, the City of Grants Pass invites residents to apply for six seats on its Committee on Public Art (CoPA) to help guide mural, sculpture and installation projects across the city. Four seats open as current members end their terms while two new seats offer a chance for fresh ideas, and interested residents must submit their applications online.  The Grants Pass Tribune
  • The City of Grants Pass announced a job opening for a Property Specialist in its Police Department with an annual salary from $56,151 to $71,665—candidates will handle evidence intake, verification, and processing while providing customer service. Applications will be accepted until 5 p.m. on September 24, and a valid Oregon Driver’s License along with a Law Enforcement Data System Certificate obtained within 60 days are required.  The Grants Pass Tribune

HEALTH NEWS

  • As cold and flu season arrives early in southern Oregon, residents are taking vitamin C to help boost their immune systems.
