ACCIDENTS NEWS
- ➤ A hay truck fire on the 1200 block of Azalea Drive closed the road on September 6 as firefighters from Rural Metro Fire and the Oregon Department of Forestry quickly controlled the flames, preventing them from spreading to nearby vegetation—while deputies managed traffic until cleanup restored normal travel. CULTURE NEWS
- ➤ Applegate Valley advanced to the public voting round for a national music grant that could give up to $120,000 over three years to fund ten free outdoor concerts at Lindsay Lodge beginning in 2026 — public votes are accepted until September 15. The Grants Pass Tribune
ENVIRONMENT NEWS
- ➤ The Kelsey Peak Fire has grown to 506 acres with 0% containment in the Lower Rogue River Corridor — authorities issued a Level 1 evacuation for zone JCU-801 and a Level 3 GO NOW order for residents near Rogue River Ranch and Marial as the only exit on BLM Road 32-9-14.2 is threatened. Firefighters will continue working today with 326 personnel and heavy equipment while a section of the Grave Creek to Marial Backcountry Byway remains closed for public safety. KDRV
