- ➤ On July 17th, firefighters responded to a 911 call about a fire on the 2200 block of Board Shanty Creek Road and found a burning house — RVs and vehicles caught in flames as the fire spread into nearby wildland. Rogue River Press
CRIME NEWS
- ➤ Following the tragic murder-suicide of the Behee family, a local domestic violence advocate urged the community to discuss all forms of abuse before crises occur. Ray Dinkins—Executive Director of Women’s Crisis Support Team Domestic and Sexual Violence Advocacy Services—stated that early conversation can offer survivors the support they need to break the cycle of abuse. - ➤ Josephine Community Library will launch Declaration 250, an eight-part public history series celebrating the 250th anniversary of the Declaration of Independence starting Thursday, September 4 from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. at the Grants Pass branch—Lois MacMillan will lead the free sessions and a traveling exhibit will be shown at the Grants Pass and Illinois Valley branches.
