- ➤ Grants Pass City Council will host the monthly Council Community Connection on Friday, August 8 from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. at Rogue Roasters (610 SW 6th Street) where Councilors Seth Benham and Victoria Marshall will meet with residents to discuss local concerns. The Grants Pass Tribune
- ➤ Southern Oregon University’s board voted unanimously today to approve President Rick Bailey’s 20% salary cut effective August 1 to help address a $5 million budget shortfall—Bailey also requested a freeze on salary increases for the rest of the year as students and board members expressed support. - ➤ Grants Pass Fire Rescue has added a new lifesaving tool called E.M.I.L.Y, a remote-controlled, battery-powered flotation craft that can reach 25 mph to quickly assist those in distress. The device was acquired through the SPIRE grant program and was tested in drills on Tuesday in the Rogue River+ it is now integrated with the fire rescue boat Miss Patty and available for any fire agency in Josephine County.
