- ➤ Elk Island Trading Group applied for a city grant on July 18 to fund an emergency shelter for over 150 unhoused people — the proposal includes enclosed sleeping units with real beds and a triage intake system for personalized care. - ➤ Britt Music & Arts Festival is offering $25 Lawn tickets to local firefighters and emergency fire staff for concerts on July 25, July 29, and July 31 at its Jacksonville outdoor venue, with eligible participants allowed to purchase up to four tickets per show when valid fire service ID is shown at the Main Office or by calling the Box Office. - ➤ Rural Metro Fire thanked private dozer operators who built containment lines along the Board Shanty Fire’s southern edge to slow the fire’s spread — their work also allowed crews to focus on suppressing flames on the north side. This effort helped keep the fire away from nearby homes. KOBI-TV

- ➤ Josephine County Commissioners approved a $3M line of credit for a 700-foot runway extension at Grants Pass Airport in Merlin after nearly 10 years of planning.
