Good morning, Grants Pass.

The Board Shanty Fire burned over 400 acres in southern Josephine County as county emergency management failed to issue alerts—forcing residents to rely on law enforcement and community members for updates.
This gap in communications has raised questions about the department’s oversight and prompted calls for a state review of the alert system.
The county secured a $3 million loan for a runway extension at Grants Pass Airport last week.
However, the county has not finalized a lease with the Josephine Community Library District, leaving facility updates on hold — fueling local concern.
