- ➤ The Oregon Department of Public Safety Standards and Training stopped using Sig Sauer P320 pistols on June 16 due to safety concerns from reports of un-commanded discharges — the decision came after a review by a workgroup following incidents identified by the Washington State Criminal Justice Training Commission. Instructors and trainees now use alternative service pistols in statewide training. The Grants Pass Tribune
- ➤ City of Grants Pass launched a corridor study with ODOT to improve safety and access on 6th and 7th Streets + officials will collect public input and assess traffic patterns from Interstate 5 exit 58 to South Y to guide future changes. The Grants Pass Tribune
- ➤ Grants Pass city officials are taking steps to use a $1.2 million state grant by seeking a local partner to run a 24-hour shelter for at least 150 people. The chosen provider will offer extra support such as hygiene access and case management while meeting ADA (Americans with Disabilities Act) standards and local zoning rules. The Grants Pass Tribune
