Good morning, Grants Pass.

For several months, residents near the courthouse have reported that civic gatherings have been disrupted by diesel trucks rolling coal, verbal insults, and even a water gun being thrown; some have recorded the incidents and contacted law enforcement for follow-up.

Grants Pass celebrated Juneteenth on Friday by hosting Opal’s Walk for Freedom, one of ten U.S. cities chosen for the event.

About 250 participants walked a two-and-a-half-mile loop around Reinhart Volunteer Park then joined speakers and live music in a festive post-walk celebration.

In Southern Oregon, community health agencies and support groups (recovery networks) help those struggling with addiction while families face emotional and financial stress.

Lasting recovery depends on individuals taking responsibility and seeking treatment.
