  • Over 800 households in Grants Pass are without power due to unexpected underground equipment interference, Pacific Power said. A team is working to restore service but officials expect the outage to last more than eight hours—disrupting daily routines.  KOBI-TV

ACCIDENTS NEWS

  • Grants Pass Fire responded late Wednesday morning around 10:45 a.m. to a rollover collision on Redwood Highway near Willow Lane—using hydraulic rescue tools to free an occupant trapped on the truck's roof with help from Rural Metro Fire, American Medical Response and Grants Pass Police.  KDRV

  • Josephine County Commissioner Ron Smith said the proposed 3% raise for elected officials is not final and will be considered at the June 18th public meeting—he opposes a pay raise for himself as county departments face 12% budget cuts.  The Grants Pass Tribune
  • Grants Pass Police Department has opened enrollment for the 2025 Citizens Police Academy — a 12-week program that offers local residents a behind-the-scenes look at police work. Spots are limited to 25 participants, who will attend Tuesday sessions from August 26 through November 11 along with optional Saturday workshops.  The Grants Pass Tribune

HEALTH NEWS

  • Bornstein Seafoods has recalled nearly 45,000 pounds of ready-to-eat shrimp sold in Oregon, California, Washington and British Columbia after internal tests flagged possible listeria contamination—customers are urged to discard or return the product while retailers remove it from shelves. Health agencies and the company are working together to review safety protocols.  The Grants Pass Tribune
