- ➤ On Saturday, a fast-moving wildfire near Houston Road in Phoenix forced evacuation orders for two neighborhoods and burned about 35 acres before firefighters brought it under control. Fire officials noted that the dry, warm conditions—declared by the Oregon Department of Forestry as fire season since June 1—mean that residents must stay alert and clear dry brush as fire risk grows.
