Evergreen Federal Bank donated $40,000 to the Mid Rogue Foundation to help build Hillcrest Veterans Village, an under-construction project with 36 one-bedroom apartments and community spaces for veterans in Josephine County.

The development addresses the risk of veteran homelessness (per the Oregon VA).

Memorial Day ceremonies are scheduled for Monday, May 25 at national cemeteries across the state, with events beginning at 11 a.m. at sites such as Eagle Point near Medford, Fort Stevens along the coast, Roseburg Annex and Willamette near Portland — coordinated by the Department of Veterans Affairs.
