ACCIDENTS NEWS
- ➤ Rural Metro Fire contained a barn fire in south Grants Pass Tuesday at about 7:00 p.m. near residences on SE Lillian Ct. and Kroner Dr.—firefighters confirmed no homes were damaged and no one was injured as the cause remains under investigation. KOBI-TV
- ➤ A fatal two-vehicle crash on Redwood Highway — known as Highway 199 — occurred just before 11 a.m. Monday at the intersection with Waldemar Road in Cave Junction, killing one person and prompting an investigation by Oregon State Police. KOBI-TV

- ➤ Grants Pass High School Marching Band welcomes 40 student musicians from Japan for a two-week cultural exchange organized by the Band Boosters and Band Director. The visiting students will stay with local host families and perform at events including the Boatnik Parade and a concert at the Performing Arts Center—strengthening international ties and musical skills. - ➤ An Ashland non-profit says its program that gives Rogue Valley high schoolers four weeks of hands-on wildfire mitigation & forest restoration training is facing a $33,000 funding cut that may reduce available spots as summer applications close on May 23. Over 15 years, the program has served 240 students and connected them with careers in natural resource management. KOBI-TV

- ➤ Today the Grants Pass City Council considers a proposal to grant wage raises for non-union employees that could add up to $1.2 million in extra costs over the next two years. If approved, the changes will take effect in July — a move aimed at keeping wages competitive amid rising service costs. The Grants Pass Tribune
- ➤ OSU Extension officials and Josephine County leaders began working to rebuild their long partnership after nearly two years of broken ties—county commissioners met with OSU staff to discuss the budget and plans for future meetings.
