  • The City of Grants Pass announced road closures and traffic reroutes for the Boatnik Festival parade on Memorial Day weekend to keep eventgoers safe—6th Street and the Caveman Bridge will be closed Saturday from 8:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., with additional restrictions downtown and on East Park Street and Baker Park over the holiday weekend.  The Grants Pass Tribune

  • A crash has closed Oregon Route 199 near milepost 28 just outside Cave Junction and is causing long delays as crews work to clear the scene — officials have not given a reopening time.  Medford Alert

  • Sanctuary One is assisting with the care of 30 to 40 animals seized from West Coast Game Park Safari in Bandon as law enforcement and state veterinarians continue their investigation, and Executive Director Megan Flowers said the animal care team led by Colleen is en route to Coos Bay for an initial pickup—updates will follow as the situation evolves.  KOBI-TV
  • Baron Messier, 58, was arrested in Grants Pass on Saturday at Ogle Park after he attacked two women during a failed drug deal and now faces charges (first-degree robbery, unlawful use of a weapon, menacing, and fourth-degree assault).  KDRV

  • Grants Pass City Council will vote tomorrow on a resolution that lets City Manager Aaron Cubic adjust salary schedules for all 51 non-union employees while potentially adding up to $1.2 million to the next biennial budget. The proposal follows a consultant’s study that showed current wages lag behind similar work—Cubic’s salary may increase by up to $50k annually as part of the changes.  KOBI-TV
