- ➤ Walmart reintroduced a $6.99 basket fee for grocery delivery and pickup orders under $35 as of late April, ending the fee waiver used during the pandemic. - ➤ Authorities conducted a coordinated raid on a residence on Lower River Road outside Grants Pass Friday morning, seizing over half a pound of fentanyl, multiple firearms and a 3D printer used to produce untraceable weapons, and arresting 38-year-old Christopher Smith who now faces drug and firearms charges. The Grants Pass Tribune
- ➤ The Josephine County Sheriff's Office is asking for help in locating 41-year-old Martha Christine Wade, who was last seen in person by Grants Pass Police on July 25, 2024 and has not been heard from since October 2024 — she is 5'7" tall, weighs 145 pounds, has blonde hair and hazel eyes, a scar on her neck, and a ladybug tattoo on her right foot. - ➤ On Monday firefighters responded to a structure fire on Merlin Avenue that turned out to be an illegal indoor marijuana grow and investigators found that the building’s electrical service was illegally manipulated + leading to several drug and arson charges and a seizure of over 1,300 marijuana plants by the Josephine Marijuana Enforcement Team. - ➤ Friday morning, multi-agency law enforcement teams—including the Grants Pass Police, DEA, RADE, ATF, Central Point Police and Jackson County Sheriff's Office—executed a search warrant at a residence on Lower River Road and arrested 38-year-old Christopher Smith for alleged fentanyl delivery while seizing over half a pound of fentanyl, multiple firearms, and a 3-D printer believed to produce ghost guns, with the bomb squad rendering suspicious devices safe as part of an effort to disrupt fentanyl distribution in Southern Oregon. - ➤ The City of Grants Pass is asking local residents to apply for three three-year seats on its Bikeways and Walkways Committee—applications must be submitted by 5 p.m. on June 6, with reviews on June 10 and final appointments made by City Council on Wednesday, July 2. Applicants can apply in person at 101 N.W. A Street or online if they represent the interests of cyclists and pedestrians. The Grants Pass Tribune
