- ➤ Grants Pass Police arrested 51-year-old Barney Clem after a multi-hour standoff following a three-hour search on NE B St, during which officers used irritant canisters after he allegedly threatened a woman with a knife in a home—another man was arrested for a parole violation and drug charges. - ➤ A Grants Pass man was arrested for First Degree Assault and Unlawful Use of a Weapon after he stabbed his mother with a butcher knife at a home on SW Vicki Ln.—first responders found her with the knife lodged near her shoulder blade and medics transported her to the hospital where she was in serious condition. - ➤ A vivid sidewalk mural by local artist Cat Polland at the corner of 5th and H Streets was chosen as May’s Public Art of the Month by the Committee on Public Art.
