CRIME NEWS
- ➤ Grants Pass Police arrested Jack Doak—a 35-year-old from the A Street resting site—on Tuesday on charges of second-degree criminal mischief and reckless burning after he started a fire on purpose that burned a tarp and eight feet of screening. KDRV
- ➤ A 31-year-old man named Blaine Case fired shots at two people and stole an ATV on Tuesday near Dick George Road in Cave Junction — deputies and state police later arrested him and charged him with unlawful use of a weapon, felon in possession of a firearm, unlawful use of a motor vehicle and two counts of first-degree attempted assault — as reported by the Josephine County Sheriff's Office. - ➤ Josephine County police arrested 48-year-old Jack Conklin on Saturday after he led a chase following a failed pull-over near Fish Hatchery Road (he is now facing charges for attempted murder, assault, and kidnapping and was treated for a dog bite) along Cheney Creek Road. KOBI-TV

- ➤ A new rail bill aims to boost planning and coordination for passenger and freight trains among Oregon, Washington — and British Columbia. The legislation passed the house on April 16th and the Senate on April 29th, and state Senator Chris Gorsek said future funding may extend service to Southern Oregon. KOBI-TV
HEALTH NEWS
- ➤ A Grants Pass veterinarian, Russel Codd, was fined $3,250 after a routine neutering at Lincoln Road Veterinary Clinic led to the death of one-year-old corgi Alvin when the oxygen was not turned on. Assistant Jennifer Noble received a $500 fine & the dog's owners say they were misled about the circumstances. KOBI-TV
