- ➤ Southern Oregon Historical Society is hosting its annual plant sale this weekend at Hanley Farm—located between Jacksonville and Central Point. - ➤ Local law enforcement confirmed a major fentanyl seizure by the RADE team with Grants Pass patrol officers that removed more than ten ounces of the synthetic opioid—enough for over 149,150 potentially fatal doses—from circulation as investigators continue probing the drug trafficking operation. - ➤ Superintendent Patrick Lee said the Rogue River School District applied to both the Cow Creek Umpqua Indian Foundation + the Ford Family Foundation for grants to support a student-based health center on Oak Street behind Rogue River E. Rogue River Press

- ➤ Firefighters from Rural Metro Fire practiced extricating trapped drivers on Interstate 5 this week in a hands-on training event with Goodfellas Towing. The exercise helped new recruits and experienced responders learn to safely remove car parts to save lives — a vital skill on busy roads in Josephine County. KDRV
- ➤ Local library volunteer Matthew Hoff filed a charter-based petition on April 22 to force the Josephine County Board of Commissioners to address the Grants Pass Library lease termination—officials must respond within five days and resolve the issue within 60 days. The move follows the county's abrupt lease termination on January 6 and a stalled dialogue after a lease renewal proposal was submitted on March 25. The Grants Pass Tribune
- ➤ The BLM is giving out nearly $28M in timber revenue payments to 18 western counties to support local services such as emergency response and education.
