  • The Rogue Gem and Geology Club hosts its annual Gem and Mineral Show at the Josephine County Fairgrounds on Saturday, April 25 and Sunday, April 26, 2026. The free event offers interactive displays, live demos, a kids corner, and food on site.  The Grants Pass Tribune

ENVIRONMENT NEWS

  • BLM and fire crews are clearing brush and thinning trees along Cathedral Hills trails to reduce wildfire fuel and protect nearby private property (the project covers 120 acres) as local landowners support by allowing crew parking today.  KDRV

  • Evans Valley Fire District launched its new Community Resource Center tab on its website + a community-driven resilience hub designed to offer refuge and resources for locals. The fire chief says the project will support residents in emergencies.  Rogue River Press
  • City officials host a forum today at the Ember Room (940 SE 8th Street) to present a redevelopment plan for the Washington and Midland area that aims to transform over eight acres into a mixed-use hub along Highway 99, inviting local residents and business owners to share ideas.  The Grants Pass Tribune
  • The U.S. Postal Service will raise the price of a First Class Forever stamp from $0.78 to $0.82 starting July 12 — a change that will gradually increase mailing costs for local businesses and households while supporting efforts to stabilize expenses.  The Grants Pass Tribune

  • Barney’s Better Burgers at 162 NE Beacon Drive has drawn local praise after many recommended its classic cheeseburger made with locally sourced beef and crispy tater tots served with house fry sauce + a nod to nostalgia.
