COMMUNITY NEWS

  • The Grants Pass Garden Club will host its Annual Plant Sale on April 26 at 119 Shire Lane in Colonial Valley from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.—it will offer a wide selection of plants, container gardens, and yard art with proceeds supporting local beautification and educational projects.  The Grants Pass Tribune

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Josephine County is facing an Unfair Labor Practice complaint filed by AFSCME Local 3694 with the Oregon Employment Relations Board over new employment policies implemented without union bargaining. The complaint, filed March 31st, accuses the County of making changes affecting timekeeping, GPS tracking and other worker rights—actions that may lead to significant shifts in labor practices if the board finds a violation.  The Grants Pass Tribune
  • Senate Bill 210, introduced by Senator David Brock Smith, aims to end Oregon’s vote-by-mail system and require voters to cast ballots in person unless they qualify for exceptions—Southern Oregon residents could face longer trips to polling places. The bill is under review by the Senate Committee on Rules after over 9,000 public testimonies were submitted in opposition.  The Grants Pass Tribune

HEALTH NEWS

  • OnTrack Rogue Valley is expanding its services in Grants Pass with an Emergency Lodging Program and a new outpatient facility. The lodging program offers 12 single occupancy rooms with ADA accessible units and on-site case management for unhoused individuals waiting for treatment, with beds available next week while the outpatient center will provide walk-in support with peer specialists and counselors and be fully open by the end of the month.  KOBI-TV

  • Spring in Southern Oregon offers new golfers a chance to learn the game with rental clubs and lessons available at local ranges such as Dutcher Creek in Grants Pass — this guide shows that beginners can start with just a few clubs and take advantage of affordable clinics.
