- ➤ On March 25th, U.S. Senator Ron Wyden (representing Oregon) spoke from his Washington, D.C. office about exempting seasonal firefighters from the federal hiring freeze and outlined how the Secure Rural Schools Act, tariffs, and concerns over Social Security and education funding could impact Oregon. - ➤ The City of Grants Pass faced off with Disability Rights Oregon and the Oregon Law Center in a Tuesday court hearing over whether its treatment of homeless residents is reasonable—the lawsuit claims the city forces homeless residents with disabilities into dangerous conditions. Judge Sarah McGlaughlin took the arguments under advisement and will issue a written ruling by Saturday when the temporary restraining order that stops citations, arrests, detentions, and fines expires.
