  • Grants Pass is inviting artists to join the Art Along the Rogue Art and Music Festival 22nd season in October. The festival in downtown Grants Pass will offer different space sizes for premier, featured and volunteer artists under the Time Warp: When Past Meets Future theme — the committee reviewed applications on May 6, 2024.  KDRV

  • On March 25th, U.S. Senator Ron Wyden (representing Oregon) spoke from his Washington, D.C. office about exempting seasonal firefighters from the federal hiring freeze and outlined how the Secure Rural Schools Act, tariffs, and concerns over Social Security and education funding could impact Oregon.  KOBI-TV
  • The City of Grants Pass faced off with Disability Rights Oregon and the Oregon Law Center in a Tuesday court hearing over whether its treatment of homeless residents is reasonable—the lawsuit claims the city forces homeless residents with disabilities into dangerous conditions. Judge Sarah McGlaughlin took the arguments under advisement and will issue a written ruling by Saturday when the temporary restraining order that stops citations, arrests, detentions, and fines expires.  KOBI-TV
  • A local editorial letter criticizes county legal counsel Wally Hicks for neglecting his duty as county commissioners act without effective oversight, leaving many in Grants Pass worried about local governance. The letter warns that unchecked power among officials risks community interests—raising calls for stronger accountability.  The Grants Pass Tribune
  • Oregon is considering House Bill 3197 that would add a 2% sales tax on beer, wine and ciders next year and eventually raise it to 8% to help prevent alcohol and drug problems among young people.
