Good morning, Grants Pass. Here's your local news at a glance for Tuesday, the 25th of March.
COMMUNITY NEWS
- ➤ The GPHS Marching Band received a refurbished 2016 tractor from Old Dominion Trucking that will save them the cost of renting trucks for competitions and their Disney trip, and the band hosted a small thank-you event for company principals. ACCIDENTS NEWS
- ➤ On Monday, shortly after 2 p.m., a mid-sized sedan driven by an adult female reportedly lost control when her accelerator got stuck and crashed into the front of Speedy Pack & Ship on Williams Highway, causing significant storefront damage without injuries while emergency crews secured the area and the business remains closed for repairs. GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Grants Pass is facing a lawsuit over new homeless regulations approved by City Council one day after they were sworn in last January — critics say the rules do not meet state standards for objective reasonability. - ➤ Grants Pass is in a deep housing crisis as few available homes and high costs force families to spend too much of their pay on housing — low vacancy rates and poor quality rentals add to the strain.
