- ➤ Community members in Grants Pass participated in the Battle of the Badges blood drive held today in the police department training room—donors could choose to give a point to either the police or fire rescue team. The American Red Cross said most of the donated blood stays in Oregon while some goes to tornado victims, free A1C testing is offered for qualifying donations and the next drive is scheduled for June 18th at the Parkway Public Safety Center. - ➤ The Southern Oregon Home and Garden Show will be held at the Jackson County Expo this weekend with a new garden center addition and over 175 vendors as Builders Association Southern Oregon reports record sponsor support and funding. The event will run Friday from 12:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m., Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until 6:00 p.m.—and Sunday from 10:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m. with admission at $5 for adults and free entry for kids 12 and under. - ➤ A Grants Pass family was forced to vacate their home after torrential rain caused flooding when their backyard culvert overflowed — the five-member family evacuated as water seeped through the walls, leaving them to assess severe damage. KDRV

- ➤ Grants Pass and Josephine County are receiving heavy rain from an intense storm system that will continue until at least Thursday and may drop 3 to 5 inches over the area. City crews are clearing storm drains and setting up sandbag distribution sites—officials warn that rising creeks and blocked drains could lead to urban flooding and hazardous roads.
