EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ Grants Pass High School has boosted its graduation rate to nearly 94 percent for the class of 2024 and over 96 percent for the class of 2025, with dropout rates near one percent and about 58 percent of graduates enrolling in college (above state averages). The Grants Pass Tribune
- ➤ Grants Pass-based Rentec Direct celebrated its 10th anniversary of awarding Tech Mastery Scholarships to Oregon students. Scholarship chair Kaycee Miller said the program, which has awarded over $15,000, is accepting applications for Fall (2026) students. KOBI-TV
- ➤ The Grants Pass branch of Josephine Community Library will host a screening of The Librarians documentary and a Q&A with Phil Meyer later this spring to explain how book challenges are reviewed; Southern Oregon PBS is partnering to help residents understand the library’s formal process. - ➤ Willow Lane in Grants Pass is closed to through traffic from March 16 until April 6 for an underground utility installation project that aims to improve long-term service reliability. Detours are set up and local access remains available (only from the Elmer Nelson side) to help motorists navigate the area. The Grants Pass Tribune
- ➤ G Street between Fourth and Sixth closed nearly a month for Owl Plaza construction that started on Monday, March 16 and will reopen on Friday, April 10 + city officials advise drivers to plan alternate routes. KDRV
