EDUCATION NEWS

  • OSU Extension will host a presentation titled Owls of Oregon on Saturday, March 14 from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. at Rogue Community College (Room J-1) where former wildlife biologist Lee O. Webb will discuss 14 native owl species and their roles in our local ecosystems.  The Grants Pass Tribune
  • Young people involved in agriculture in Josephine County will sharpen their animal care skills at the free Animal Science Training hosted by OSU Extension on Saturday, March 14 at the Community Learning Center (fairgrounds). GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • The city council approved a $720 fine for motorized vehicles on Dollar Mountain trails during a March 4 meeting (8–0 vote) to curb trail damage, soil erosion, and wildfire risks, with authorities set to enforce the rule for safe trail use.  The Grants Pass Tribune

HEALTH NEWS

  • The Asante Foundation announced its campaign to expand The Family House near Three Rivers Medical Center has raised over $1 million from local donors—a milestone that moves the project toward doubling its seven-room capacity. Fundraising will continue until it reaches $3.2 million.  The Grants Pass Tribune

LIFESTYLE NEWS

  • Casa Blanca Coffee and Grill has introduced a special three-cheese grilled sandwich on a house-made torta roll as part of Say Cheese Month to support the Josephine County Food Bank. The local eatery offers a simple, comforting meal for residents.  The Grants Pass Tribune
