- ➤ Casa Amiga is a community favorite on Taco Tuesday at 200 McDonald Way where families enjoy authentic street tacos. Owners Jose and Lilia also run a food truck and offer catering services for local events. The Grants Pass Tribune
EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ Rogue Community College began a new surgical technologies program in spring 2025 in partnership with Providence Health. The program + which is the valley's first Associate of Applied Science degree in surgical tech met high enrollment and will double capacity next year. KOBI-TV
- ➤ Rogue Community College has approved expansion of transportation technology training facilities at its Redwood Campus in Grants Pass and Table Rock Campus for Jackson County. The project addresses industry shortages and modernizes instruction and will expand enrollment while construction planning is underway (details to follow). The Grants Pass Tribune
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Today, the Oregon Senate passed SB1517 to clarify liability waivers for recreation businesses, meaning local outdoor operators (from guiding river trips to running gyms) may face lower insurance costs and remain accountable for reckless acts as the bill moves to the Oregon House. The Grants Pass Tribune
- ➤ The Oregon House approved House Bill 4148 that lets local governments use tourism tax revenue for essential services like roads and public safety. The measure now moves to the Senate for review. The Grants Pass Tribune
- ➤ Utility crews began water service installation on SW 6th Street between H and I today, and parking restrictions put in place yesterday will ease after asphalt repairs early Friday. The Grants Pass Tribune
