CULTURE NEWS

  • Code 4 Taphouse at 515 Rogue River Highway in Grants Pass will host emo pop punk artist Gary Bender on Friday, Feb. 20, with a live set followed by a DJ-driven celebration for guests 21+.  The Grants Pass Tribune

ENVIRONMENT NEWS

  • Grants Pass remains under a Winter Weather Advisory through 10:00 a.m. Thursday with two to four inches of wet snow forecast, while higher mountain areas face a Winter Storm Warning with up to 12 inches of snow; drivers should check roads and carry emergency supplies + allow extra travel time.  The Grants Pass Tribune
  • Pollinator Project Rogue Valley will use over $177,000 from a state grant to move and expand its native plant nursery to the Phoenix Industrial Studios. Groundbreaking will begin in early spring with completion set for fall 2026.  KOBI-TV

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • The Oregon House approved HB 4116 to close a loophole that lets some online lenders bypass the 36% cap & ensure loans to local residents meet state rules. The bill now moves to the Senate for review.  The Grants Pass Tribune
  • Senator Jeff Golden supports SB 1541 (his final legislative session effort) that would require major oil and gas companies to pay for disaster recovery costs linked to extreme weather; the bill assesses emissions from 1995 to 2024 and could reduce costs passed to consumers. Lawmakers will review the proposal soon.  KOBI-TV

HEALTH NEWS

  • YouthLine offers free peer-to-peer mental health support for locals under 24 via call + text, chat or email during Youth Mental Health Awareness Month. Youth volunteers and interns, supervised by clinicians, provide outreach in classrooms to help raise mental health awareness.  KOBI-TV
