- ➤ AllCare Health will host the Ms. Wheelchair Oregon 2026 competition on Feb. 28 at 2 p.m. (1701 NE 7th in Grants Pass) to crown a state advocate. Women who use wheelchairs will present their platforms to advance disability rights before the winner moves on to the national contest. The Grants Pass Tribune
- ➤ Pacific Power restored electricity on East Crow Road in Merlin — though about 108 customers remain without power — with complete service expected by 5:30 p.m. Officials are investigating the cause of the outage. KDRV
- ➤ Operation Rambo received a $50,000 grant from AllCare Health to expand service dog training for veterans and first responders in Southern Oregon, and will host Pies and Pints for Pups and Vets today from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. at Wild River Pizza in Grants Pass. The Grants Pass Tribune

- ➤ OSP is investigating alleged inappropriate conduct at Highland Elementary School as the school district placed the involved staff member on leave, with details limited by student privacy laws. KOBI-TV
ENVIRONMENT NEWS
- ➤ A series of winter storms will bring snow, heavy rain, and gusty winds to the region starting Friday night and continuing into next week, with mountain passes and coastal roads facing hazardous travel conditions due to ponding water. Medford Alert
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Grants Pass is seeking a local historical society representative for its Historical Buildings and Sites Commission, with applications due by 5 p.m. Friday, Apr. 3 (available online and at 101 N.W. A Street). Review begins April 9 and final appointment by the Council is expected on May 6. The Grants Pass Tribune
- ➤ On Monday, Representative Val Hoyle announced that $16.6M in federal funding was secured for community projects across several counties. In our region, $1M is earmarked for port improvements — with Brookings, Umpqua Community College, and Glide Revitalization set to share funds for system upgrades and affordable housing. KOBI-TV
