- ➤ Residents can get free federal and state tax help at Josephine Community Library at 200 Northwest C Street. Volunteers will assist on Tuesdays from 2 to 6 p.m. (by appointment) and Fridays from 1 to 5 p.m. KDRV
BUSINESS NEWS
- ➤ Applications are now open for a new Small Business Taskforce that will advise local officials on economic strategies in Grants Pass. Business owners can apply in person (101 N.W. A Street) or online until 5 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 27, and appointments will be made at the City Council meeting on Wednesday, Mar. 18. The Grants Pass Tribune
EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ Grants Pass School District 7 reported record graduation rates for the Class of 2025 with an 83.6% four-year rate and 91% completer rate that exceed statewide averages. District leaders credit expanded academic and social supports including AVID strategies and ninth-grade mentoring programs with the achievement. The Grants Pass Tribune
- ➤ Students at Grants Pass High School are gaining hands-on training in an expanded automotive program, which now includes an outdoor work area with updated lifts and heaters (donated by Grants Pass Toyota and Grants Pass Automotive) to give freshmen and seniors more lab time and practical skills. - ➤ Care providers and community partners will gather for the Adult Foster Home Conference this spring at the Josephine County Fairgrounds. Registration opens in about three weeks, and the event will offer continuing education credits, a First Aid class, and interactive sessions for improved adult foster care practices.
