- ➤ Cecile Enright, founder of River’s Edge Academy Charter School, appeared before the school board to discuss renewing its contract with the district—covering campuses in Grants Pass and Wimer. Board members will decide next steps soon. Rogue River Press
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ The Oregon Public Utility Commission approved a modest rate decrease for PacifiCorp customers effective today — typical residential users consuming 900 kWh will see their bills drop by about $0.96 monthly, and further adjustments are set for Apr. 1. KDRV
- ➤ The Oregon Public Utility Commission approved a small rate cut for PacifiCorp customers with lower bills taking effect today. Customers using about 900 kWh a month will pay 96 cents less on average & further adjustments will be announced before changes start on April 1. Medford Alert

- ➤ Reagan Alden finished third at state while Rogue River Jr. Sr. High School saw its track and field rebound — vaulting Alden to top sports story status for 2025. Rogue River Press
- ➤ On Tuesday, Dec. 30, Rogue River Jr. Sr. High's girls wrestling team won the Shamrock Invitational at Riddle as five athletes posted a 2-0 record in their weight classes. Rogue River Press
- ➤ Mt. Ashland Ski Area is pausing operations today because low snowpack and rain are forecast; the resort will refund lift tickets, rentals, and lessons while officials monitor potential snowfall this weekend. KOBI-TV
